BIG WINS AT THE EDU FILM FESTIVAL!
For the past two years, we have submitted our best short films of the year to the EDU Film Festival, based in St. Louis Park near Minneapolis. In 2018, Cryptic Closet was nominated for the Best Narrative and Best-In-Fest awards, but did not win. In 2019, our promotional film for Campfire Bay Resort won the Best Documentary and Best Cinematography awards. This year, we had so many great films to submit! Nora was nominated for the MWFTV Emerging Filmmaker award for Six Feet Apart, and Time For Oatmeal was nominated for the Dakota Laden Award for Comedy. However, A Light In The Dark was the true winner and swept up THREE awards: Best Narrative, Best Cinematography, and Best-In-Fest. We are overwhelmed by the studio's success over the last year and congratulate all of our fellow nominees.

A LIGHT IN THE DARK IS AN INTERNATIONAL HIT!
For the first time in Wildcat Rebellion history, our short film has been selected for a film festival outside of the United States. And where else but Kosice, Slovakia! In addition to the Official Selection, we were awarded an Honorable Mention for Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Short at the Košice International Monthly Film Festival!

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | Behind The Scenes
April 25, 2020
The final piece of a nearly year-long journey! To further celebrate the success and critical acclaim of A Light In The Dark, we cut together this long-overdue BTS documentary.

Tune in to get an in-depth look at the creation of the short, featuring interviews with director William Blackwell Kinney and actors Billy Canter and Elijah Zupfer. We hope you enjoy!

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | Official Score Only
April 18, 2020
To compliment the cut of A Light In The Dark featuring only the sound design, the studio also released a cut featuring the score only.

A Light In The Dark is our studio's first short film with a 100% original score. In the past, we've used primarily royalty-free music to score our films, but we have wanted to compose our own music since 2017 when we made the film War PAUL. We hope you find this aspect of the film insightful!

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | Sound Design Only
April 18, 2020
To celebrate all of the Sound Design awards A Light In The Dark has received in the film festival circuit ("Circuit Problems?"), the studio released this version of the film, in which only the sound design is present. Sound design is an integral part of the post-production process, and it includes a combination of foley, dialogue distortion, sound layering, and several other techniques. The goal of this process is to draw the audience into the world of the film, immersing them in the environment and helping them create a connection with its nuances. We hope you find this special look at "A Light In The Dark" interesting!

FOURTH BEST SCI-FI AWARD AT THE INDEPENDENT SHORTS AWARDS!
Dominating the Sci-Fi genre once again, A Light In The Dark won yet another Best Sci-Fi Short award at the Independent Shorts Awards in Los Angeles, California! Furthermore, lead actor Billy Canter was awarded with Best Young Actor again, bringing the film's total award count up to 11 (excluding nominations). Onwards to the next festival!

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | The Clean Cut
April 11, 2020
Following the success of A Light In The Dark at several film festivals and on YouTube, the studio decided to release the "Clean Cut" of the film to celebrate. The "Clean Cut" is essentially the cut of the film that censors the worst of the its profanity (cough Henry cough). Furthermore, the studio received an offer to put the film on the paid streaming service Xerb, which features independent short films. Accepting the offer, this cut of the film is now available for viewing on the site!

Thank you again and congrats to everyone who worked on this film!

BEST YOUNG ACTOR FOR BILLY CANTER AT THE HOLLYWOOD BLOOD HORROR FESTIVAL!
Just days after A Light In The Dark's success at the Indie Short Fest, the film once again won 1) Best Sci-Fi and 2) Best Sound Design at the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival. In addition to these two awards, we were overjoyed when Billy Canter, the star of the film, won the Best Young Actor award! His performance in the film was outstanding and, for that, he deserves major recognition.

MORE AWARDS AT THE INDIE SHORT FEST!
Wow, these squids really do be bringing home the awards for A Light In The Dark! The film managed to snag two more awards at the Indie Short Fest in Los Angeles, California. Competing against films from 48 other countries, the film won 1) Best Sci-Fi Short and 2) Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design.

SIX FEET APART | Skit
March 28, 2020
It's Corona Time!

After an unbroken 26 hours of editing, the studio released this comedic take on the Covid-19 pandemic—competing with Dude Imperfect for the fastest turnaround time for one of our films (the record is 5 days after production wraps; Six Feet Apart took 6 days. Though, unlike Dude Imperfect, it contains several VFX shots that took ate up a lot of render time). In no time, fans proclaimed this skit to be an "instant classic," and it stands as a shining example of our studio's ability to pump out high-quality films on a deadline.

A LIGHT IN THE DARK WINS BIG AT THE INDIEX FILM FEST!
After the success of A Light In The Dark at the New York Movie Awards, the film snagged three more awards at the IndieX Film Fest in Los Angeles, California! Out of the 63 possible awards categories, we won 1) Best Sci-Fi Short, 2) Best Young Filmmaker, and 3) Best Sound Mixing. The awards followed four nominations for 1) Best Sci-Fi Short, 2) Best Production Design, 3) Best Sound Design, and 4) Best Sound Mixing.

SIX FEET APART IS FILMED
After weeks of failed attempts to convince William to greenlight a Coronavirus-themed skit, studio leaders Nora, Adam, and Jackson finally broke through on Friday, March 20. The reason for the breakthrough? Minimal man-made noise outside due to social distancing. At 11 PM that night, William churned out a screenplay in 20 minutes flat, and shot the skit the following day with Nora and newcomer Julia Rynkiewich. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 concerns, Adam and Jackson were not able to film, forcing William and Nora to get creative with the Coronavirus scenes (which were originally going to feature Adam and Jackson, rather than William playing both parts).

A LIGHT IN THE DARK IS GOING TO NYC!
During our January hiatus, the studio spent some time submitting our 2019 films to several film festivals. The first to get back to us was the New York Movie Awards, for which A Light In The Dark was officially selected! Shortly after the film's selection, it won the Best Sound Design award! It will screen at the event in the East Village in Manhattan later this month.

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | Official Soundtrack
February 17, 2020
Annnnd we're back! Slowly adjusting out of hibernation, the studio decided to kick 2020 off with the Official Soundtrack for A Light In The Dark! This marks a major milestone in our journey as a studio, as A Light In The Dark is our first short film with a 100% original score, composed by William. Drawing on the brooding synth atmosphere of the pop-culture phenomenon Stranger Things, the score lends itself to the mysterious tone of the film.

The soundtrack is comprised of seven tracks, including the music for the trailer ("They Are Coming"), as well as an updated version of the 88th Dimension theme music ("The 88th Dimension"). William's personal favorite track is the epic finale for the film's final scene, when Nolan returns to the shed to save Leo (titled "The World Between Worlds"—an accidental reference to Star Wars). We hope you enjoy listening!

WILDCAT REBELLION REWIND // Demo Reel 2019
December 28, 2019
WOW!

This year was PACKED with movie making :D We produced our two biggest short films this year: Real Life Gun Game II and A Light In The Dark, along with the more low-profile Time For Oatmeal. Not only was the studio prolific, but we managed to up the quality of our productions significantly—through upgrades in lighting, sound, and camera, as well as putting together an amazing, reliable crew. To celebrate, we created this mashup of our films from 2019. Enjoy!

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | Short Film
December 14, 2019
They have arrived.

After wrapping in late September, A Light In The Dark is ready to go out into the world! Not only was production incredibly smooth and rewarding, but the end product is definitely our best work (visually and sonically) to date. Featuring Elijah Zupfer once again, this film concludes this fall's film extravaganza! Now, if you will excuse us, we must return to hibernation to recuperate from the journey. See you soon!

A CELEBRATION OF WILDCAT REBELLION
In celebration of our 5-year anniversary as a film production studio, William, Adam, and Nora hosted a small screening at which we premiered our final film of 2019: A Light In The Dark! 2019 has been our best year yet and we look forward to the adventures of 2020 and beyond. Thank you all for your support, we love you!

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | Official Trailer
November 30, 2019
They are coming.

After some mid-week technical difficulties forced the studio to postpone this trailer's release, it is finally out! This preview hints at an entirely unexpected aspect of the film, stirring up hype for the film's upcoming premiere at the Celebration of Wildcat Rebellion event and its release on December 14! Additionally, this trailer is our first preview featuring our own original score, marking yet another step forward in our filmmaking journey.

REAL LIFE GUN GAME DAY!
On this day, one year ago, William green-lit the production of Real Life Gun Game II—one of the studio's most famous and successful films to date. Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into when the studio began the project, but one year later, we can safely say it was the most decisive and important progression in our filmmaking journey. Without it, and without the people we met and the audience we grew along the way, who knows where we would be today! So, to celebrate, William took over the film's official Instagram and shared new BTS photos and videos. Thank you once again to everyone who helped make this film possible!

TIME FOR OATMEAL | Short Film
November 9, 2019
The first of the two films in the Wildcat Rebellion fall extravaganza has been released! Clocking in at 2.5 minutes, this *short* short film is simple yet effective, similar to the one-minute short films from 2017.

In fact, the film is so similar to Midnight Snack (even starring the same dude: Elijah Zupfer) that Time For Oatmeal might possibly be a sequel to it ;)

A LIGHT IN THE DARK | Official Teaser
October 31, 2019
Just in time for Halloween, the studio's spookiest film of the year got a teaser trailer to celebrate! While the trailer was intentionally vague, it was enough to grab the attention of many across social media.

Along with the teaser came the release month: December. Still a month away, it gives the studio enough time to hype up the film and shape it into the best it can be!

THAT'S A WRAP FOR TIME FOR OATMEAL
After the miraculously-smooth production of A Light In The Dark, the studio confidently wrapped up shooting on the second film in this fall's dual-film extravaganza: Time For Oatmeal. Being more of a comedy than a drama, Time For Oatmeal was a much-needed change of tone from the dark and moody A Light In The Dark.

A LIGHT IN THE DARK WRAPS!
After perhaps the smoothest production of any Wildcat Rebellion short film, the highly-anticipated 88th Dimension Anthology film A Light In The Dark went out with a BANG with a massive film shoot involving a dozen-or-so extras, several gallons of smoke, and intense strobe lights.

PRODUCTION BEGINS ON TIME FOR OATMEAL
This fall has been a very fertile period in the Wildcat Rebellion Studios timeline, with three productions (all at different stages) being worked on simultaneously. Time For Oatmeal (working title) is the latest film to enter production with a grueling 7-hour shoot from 6 PM to 1 AM.

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II | BTS B-Roll

William, Nora, and Adam meticulously recorded everything surrounding the production of Real Life Gun Game II—so much so that the studio ended up with over FOUR hours of footage and HUNDREDS of photos.

This behind-the-scenes b-roll compilation highlights the best moments from the incredible journey our studio had in making it.

PRODUCTION BEGINS ON A LIGHT IN THE DARK
The highly-anticipated short film A Light In The Dark entered production with one of the most fun shoot days the studio has ever had! Naturally, everyone was excited about starting a new film after a two-month break post-Real Life Gun Game II. Let the grind begin!

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II | Audience Reaction

Being the biggest film the studio has produced to date, and because of the hype surrounding the film, Real Life Gun Game II premiered at a local theater downtown St. Paul on Friday, May 31, 2019. Between two screenings, over 70 people attended the event.

This film showcases the first screening and the exclusive release of Real Life Gun Game II--one week prior to its official release on June 8.

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II | Behind The Scenes
June 29, 2019
As a studio, we *love* digging into the nitty-gritty behind-the-scenes features of our favorite films. With a short film as ambitious as Real Life Gun Game II, we knew we had to make our own vignette into production.

This documentary features interviews with the original cast/crew of Real Life Gun Game and tells the story from inception to the final release.

THE NEXT PROJECT: A LIGHT IN THE DARK
Wasting no time after the release of Real Life Gun Game II, the studio was back in the writing room finalizing the details on a project that has been in the works for the past year. On this day, the official announcement of the next Wildcat Rebellion Film, A Light In The Dark, was made on William's Instagram page.

After pouring in all of our time, blood, sweat, tears, hopes and dreams into this project, the most-anticipated sequel our studio has ever created was released to the public.

OFFICIAL SELECTION AT THE DULUTH-SUPERIOR FILM FESTIVAL 2019
On May 17, our first paid-promotional film, Campfire Bay Resort Promo, won "Best Documentary" and "Best Cinematography" at the EDU Film Festival. Because of our wins, our film was automatically included in the Duluth-Superior Film Festival's Official Selection. We are both humbled and gratified by the success of our films (of late), and can't wait to see where we go further down the road!

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II PREMIERE
When the studio first green-lit Real Life Gun Game II, never in our wildest dreams did we think it would come to this! The highly-anticipated film premiered at the Indevu Films theater downtown St. Paul to an audience of over 70 people. An instant success, the event built up even more hype for the film, which is set to be released to YouTube on June 8, 2019.

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II | Official Trailer
May 21, 2019
With only 10 days until the premiere of Real Life Gun Game II, the studio surprised fans with an unexpected trailer announcement on this day.

Premiering at precisely 1:45 PM CST, many fans skipped class to watch this highly-anticipated preview. Praised for being one of the best people had ever seen (yes, even better than Endgame's trailer), the trailer's reception gave us boosted confidence in our filmmaking endeavors.

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II WRAPS!
13 days out from the premiere, Real Life Gun Game II wrapped on one of the hardest shoots the studio has ever had. Though the picture we posted on Instagram might suggest otherwise, all of the cast and crew on the shoot were miserable after deciding to go to a sleepover (and not sleeping) on the eve of the shoot. It didn't help that Jacob had an accident involving a pile of bricks and went to the hospital from 1-3 AM. Regardless, we got it done—against all odds. Now... ON TO THE EDIT!

CAMPFIRE BAY RESORT PROMO WINS BIG AT THE EDU FILM FESTIVAL 2019
In the midst of our team scrambling to meet the May 31 deadline for Real Life Gun Game II, we were overjoyed to hear that our first paid-promotional film won both the "Best Documentary" and "Best Cinematography" awards at the EDU Film Festival! The film will be a part of the Duluth-Superior Film Festival's Official Selection in June.

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II | Official Teaser
April 27, 2019
Completely out of the blue, the studio dropped a teaser trailer for Real Life Gun Game II. Running just under one minute, its pulsing music and introduction of characters was enough to get fans hyped. Amassing over 2,000 views and hundreds of likes on the film's Instagram, the film's anticipated release quickly became a hot topic within our community.

April 19, 2019
OUR BIGGEST SHOOT YET!
As a studio, we are used to working extremely low-budget with minimal cast and crew. Our films usually involve no more than three or four people. However, on Real Life Gun Game II, we knew we had to step up and deliver something BIG. Enlisting in the help of around a dozen extras PLUS our core cast and crew, we shot one of the opening scenes of the film with over 20 people! While the scene wasn't too difficult in itself, it still took a ton of manpower and cooperation to pull this monumental film shoot off.
March 1, 2019
PRODUCTION BEGINS FOR REAL LIFE GUN GAME II
With all the pieces in place after a four-month pre-production period, all systems were Go! Go! Go! as the studio dove headfirst into production on Real Life Gun Game II. While our first shoot for the film was entirely minimal, we feel as if we are setting out on an amazing journey that is both daunting and exciting in all the right ways. Wish us luck!

FINAL REAL LIFE GUN GAME II PRE-PRODUCTION MEETING
With only two weeks until shooting starts, the Real Life Gun Game II team got together one last time during the pre-production phase. This final meeting involved purchasing costumes from Goodwill (a great place to get costumes for cheap!), another script read-through, and cast photos.
January 31, 2019
REAL LIFE GUN GAME II SCREENPLAY FINISHED!
After months of hard work and back-and-forth discussion, the final screenplay for Real Life Gun Game II was finished. Only storyboarding, script breakdowns, location scouting, and prop gathering remain to be completed before production starts in March.

DUDE IMPERFECT: RECYCLING EDITION | Skit
January 28, 2019
When William got word of a short film assignment in his AP Environmental Science class, he started planning it right away. Considering the overwhelming success of the original skit, a sequel to Dude Imperfect was a perfect idea.

Similar to the original film, this skit involves a lot of celebration and "epic" trick shots. While it runs at just 1:22, it was proof that the studio was starting to master quick editing and efficient production, something that will pay off in future films.

January 25, 2019
DUDE IMPERFECT: RECYCLING EDITION IS FILMED
After the success of the studio's skit Dude Imperfect, in August of 2018, a sequel seemed like a good way to kick off the new year. This film was actually an assignment for William's AP Environmental Science class, but we twisted that into an excuse to work on another film. It was shot on this day in just under two hours—all thanks to great pre-production planning.
REAL LIFE GUN GAME II CREW MEETING No. 3
On the same day that Dude Imperfect: Recycling Edition was shot, the cast and crew of the studio's hottest film to date got together to go over the script one more time. Only minor changes were made to some dialogue, but, otherwise, the script was finished to everyone's satisfaction!

IT'S THE STORY THAT MATTERS SCREENS AT THE OREGON CINEMA ARTS FILM FESTIVAL
After being officially selected in the Oregon Cinema Arts Film Festival, the studio's short film It's The Story That Matters screened among 200 other films from 26 different countries and 30 different U.S. states. Not gonna lie, we were astounded to be selected and screened with so many professional and more-advanced filmmakers, but we were incredibly grateful for this opportunity!

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II CREW MEETING No. 2
With the finalization of the second draft of the script, the cast and crew of Real Life Gun Game II got together for a second time to discuss some major story changes, as well as further merchandise opportunities and final screening options.

REAL LIFE GUN GAME II SCRIPT READING
Just days after the initial teaser image was revealed on Instagram, the cast and crew of Real Life Gun Game II got together to discuss production logistics, ideas, merchandise, and other things related to the film. The session concluded with an exciting read of the first draft of the script, written by Adam and transcribed to screenplay format by William.
November 27, 2018
REAL LIFE GUN GAME II GREENLIGHT
Four years after the original film came out, the studio was surprised to learn how big of a cult-classic Real Life Gun Game had become within our local community. Adam, in particular, was pushing for a sequel—but it was ultimately green-lit by studio head William, after experiencing first-hand the excitement surrounding a potential sequel. The studio dropped the first teaser image on Instagram on this day, and the film entered pre-production immediately after (although Adam had already written the first draft of the script in the summer).
November 10-11, 2018
THEATER PEOPLE SEASON 5 PROMO SHOOT
It seems only natural that, after completing our first professional work, we should wake up the next weekend to find ourselves on Matthew G. Anderson's Theater People web series film set. William and his dad, Matthew, had been connecting with Anderson since they took a Web Series 101 class, led by Anderson, in May of 2017 at FilmNorth. Matthew is now officially a Producer of the series, which is raising funds for its 5th season, and William came on as a Production Assistant.

CAMPFIRE BAY RESORT | Promo
November 4, 2018
Just a week after the hand-off of the Campfire Bay Resort Promo, it was released to Facebook, YouTube, and the Campfire Bay website. It quickly gained traction on the studio's main channel rabiezthecat, gathering hundreds of views within 24 hours. Although William had no intention of this when he made a short Instagram video in 2017, we were super grateful for this opportunity, which effectively legitimized the studio!

October 28, 2018
ENTERING THE PROFESSIONAL REALM
On this day, Wildcat Rebellion Studios made the official transition from amateur to professional filmmakers. After completing the Campfire Bay Resort Promo, William received payment from our client, marking a big step forward for him and everyone else in the studio.

DUDE IMPERFECT | Skit
August 11, 2018
Just 5 days after shooting wrapped, the skit Dude Imperfect was released to YouTube on Saturday, August 11, 2018. It quickly became hit for the studio, with some on-set spectators quickly finding the film online.

Shot at Campfire Bay Resort during the same time the Promo was being filmed, the resort's big recreation center and gym seemed like the perfect place to make a parody the popular YouTube channel Dude Perfect.

August 6, 2018
WIELDING TWO PRODUCTIONS AT ONCE
William shot both Dude Imperfect and the Campfire Bay Resort Promo at the same time at Campfire Bay Resort. Tyler Kinney and Elijah Paulson starred alongside William in a rare instance where he actually plays a big role in front of the camera. Little did they know they were shooting some of the studio's best films to date!

IT'S THE STORY THAT MATTERS | Short Film
June 9, 2018
One of our most ambitious films to date, It's The Story That Matters put the studio outside of its comfort zone and forced us to get out into the Minnesota filmmaking community.

Released on Saturday, June 9, 2018—after much final tweaking post-Juice Media Final Screening—the studio was incredibly proud of this film. Being entirely original, it will be entered in several film festivals in 2019.

May 18, 2018
OFFICIAL SELECTION AT THE EDU FILM FESTIVAL
On our second-ever time submitting to a film festival, we were officially selected! Being nominated for the "Best Narrative" and "Best In Fest" awards, we naturally attended the EDU Film Festival in St. Louis Park, MN. Although we didn't win, we were proud to be screened alongside a dozen other aspiring filmmakers in a special screening for the festival finalists!
May 17, 2018
JUICE MEDIA FINAL SCREENING
On the eve of the EDU Film Festival, It's The Story That Matters was privately screened in front of a select audience of filmmakers in the youth filmmaking group Juice Media. The event marked the end of William's time with the group, as well as a landmark achievement in the studio's history—possibly our most ambitious film to date!
May 16, 2018
IT'S THE STORY THAT MATTERS WRAPS!
Almost literally being worked on until the last-minute, the studio managed to wrap production of It's The Story That Matters the day before its screening on the final day of Juice Media. William had a long night editing it, but it's safe to say everything turned out all right in the end!
March 30-April 8, 2018
BIKE TRIP IN TEXAS
Adam is known in the studio for planning overnight bike trips every year, but none have been anywhere as ambitious as this one. So, when Adam started planning a week-long bike trip for the Texas Hill Country, the studio knew this was an opportunity they couldn't miss. The heads of the studio, William, Nora, and Adam, along with Adam's sister Clare, drove down to Texas starting March 30. It was an incredible experience, and William filmed every day of it. The film recounting their adventures is in the works.
March 6, 2018
PRODUCTION BEGINS FOR IT'S THE STORY THAT MATTERS
After several weeks of conceptualizing, organizing shot lists, actors, and equipment, and planning shoot days and other logistics, William shot the opening scene of It's The Story That Matters with Savina Sisneros on this day.

FILM FESTIVAL 2018 | Playlist
January 14, 2018
Following the fun of the previous year, Wildcat Rebellion Studios hosted another film festival with the same concept: 1 Hour to Plan, 1 Hour to Shoot, and 1 Hour to Edit. Once again, it was a resounding success, with each group successfully producing hilarious and entertaining results. All films, for some reason, turned out to involve a detective storyline—a strange coincidence that wasn't realized until the screening of the films!

FANTASTIC BOMBS AND WHERE TO LIGHT THEM | Skit
November 18, 2017
Released on the one-year anniversary of the Harry Potter spinoff film, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, this parody was the studio's attempt at ramping up the quality of their visual effects and sound design.

Harry Potter has long been one of William's biggest influences, so he was excited to work on this film. That the studio has come a long way since 2014...

MIDNIGHT SNACK | One Minute Short Film
November 13, 2017
Our second entry for the Film Riot & Filmstro One-Minute Short Film Contest, this film combined all the studio's skill into a nicely-packaged short. Although it is only a minute long, it was challenging for the team to come up with a story that made sense in the limited timeframe.

The biggest takeaway from creating this film was: simplify, simplify, simplify! The simpler the story, the better the film.

CRYPTIC CLOSET | One Minute Short Film
November 11, 2017
This was something new for the studio: condensing a story down into the shortest time possible (well... not shortest, but close enough!). Cryptic Closet was our first entry for the Film Riot & Filmstro One-Minute Short Film Contest. While the story was short, it provided an interesting opportunity for the studio to flex its production skills on a small, controlled scale. It was a great test run for us to get used to a legitimate production environment, and we learned a lot from the experience.

FANTASTIC BOMBS AND WHERE TO LIGHT THEM | Official Trailer
November 10, 2017
After the half-joke of a teaser trailer was dropped in early September, the real trailer for the studio's upcoming film, Fantastic Bombs and Where to Light Them, was released to YouTube on this day. As William would point out, the "trailer" is, by today's standards, not even considered a "teaser trailer." However, the studio has made it a priority to make trailers how we believe they were meant to be: short, sweet, and leaving the audience wanting more.

October 21, 2017
CRYPTIC CLOSET IS FILMED
CRUNCH TIME FOR W.R. STUDIOS. Just nine hours after the shoot for Midnight Snack wraps, the studio is back at it with the production of its other one-minute short film, Cryptic Closet. This time, it is shot at Nora's house. The studio knew it had to get these two films wrapped on this weekend in order to have enough time for editing before the November 20 deadline. Shooting on this day left the studio exactly one month to edit both films for the contest.
October 20, 2017
MIDNIGHT SNACK IS FILMED
After less than a month of pre-production, the one-minute short film Midnight Snack is shot at the Zupfer residence. The shoot was long and didn't wrap until 12 AM, but the end result was entirely worth it. William's cinematography in this film is noticeably better than any other film shot to date, demonstrating our progression as filmmakers.

FILM RIOT & FILMSTRO "ONE-MINUTE SHORT FILM CONTEST" ANNOUNCED
As a casual viewer of the YouTube show Film Riot, William was happily surprised when he saw this announcement in his feed. Knowing this was a big chance for the studio to show off what they had learned over the past few years, he, Adam, Nora, and Jackson spent many hours brainstorming film ideas. This proved to be very difficult, as coming up with a story that made sense in 1 minute was challenging to do. Initially, William wanted to pull off three 1-minute films to have a better shot at winning. However, the studio didn't have the time or resources to do all three final ideas, so they stuck to just two: Midnight Snack and Cryptic Closet.

WAR PAUL | Skit
July 15, 2017
Released in the heat of the summer, War PAUL is one of the studio's more *experimental* films. Still continuing the theme of Nerf guns, the film took an unusual approach to dialogue: all of it was written by Google Translate!

While the film itself may not make much sense, the wacky lines delivered in dead-pan fashion by Jackson, Zane, and Nora are sure to crack any audience up!

ROGUE ONE: IN 5 MINUTES | Skit
February 4, 2017
Pew, pew, pew! The studio has had a long history with Star Wars, going back to William's first-ever short film, Revenge of the Second Graders, a parody of Revenge of the Sith, which he made in 2010 at age 8.

Shot on New Years Eve, 2016, and completed at 12 AM on New Years Day, 2017, it is the first Wildcat Rebellion film to be shot over two years (technically-speaking :P). This skit covers the best and most-memorable moments in Rogue One--complete with the epic ending scene that is now Star Wars legend.

ROGUE ONE: IN 5 MINUTES | Official Trailer
January 27, 2017
It is here! After a month of editing, Rogue One: In 5 Minutes is close enough to being done to drop a trailer. This is actually the first time a trailer has been made for a skit—usually, only short films have this luxury because they are long enough. However, the studio felt that there was enough footage to go into a preview—and, since everyone had already seen the actual movie, there was nothing to be spoiled!

Stay tuned—the film drops on February 4!

ROGUE ONE: IN 5 MINUTES IS FILMED
After seeing the new Disney Star Wars movie, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a grand total of 9 times in the theater, studio head William knew it was time to make another five-minute rendition of a movie! To refresh themselves on the story, William, Nora, Jackson and Zane went to see the movie on this day, then wrangled together a team of siblings to help shoot a highly-spontaneous skit! The shoot when well into the night, ending around 12 AM, once everyone was all loopy and unable to focus. Overall, one of the most fun film shoots we've had!
